Migrants continue to face many barriers in accessing information about HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. Social and language barriers result in lack of awareness and stigma. Especially vulnerable subgroups of migrants include women, men having sex with men, sex workers, undocumented migrants and refugees. African Health Organization provide awareness campaign in different langugaes to immigrant communities in Norway
- In 2023 – 2025, the African Health and Social Development Organization is proud to launch a Sexual Health Campaign in collaboration with African community Organizations in Norway. The main aim of the campaign is to promote sexual health, the prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted Diseases; use of condoms together with early testing of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Sexual health is indeed part of a healthy body. The main objectives of this campaign are to;
- Create awareness and increase knowledge on sexual health
- Increase peoples’ knowledge on safe sex and the use of contraceptive methods, and condoms for the prevention of unwanted\unintended pregnancies and STDs
- Encourage people to get tested early and regularly
